Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your personal information.

Please read this policy carefully. By registering on Sure Ark, completing KYC verification, or making a payment to unlock a female profile's contact details, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

Information We Collect

We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with our platform. The categories of information we collect include:

Information you provide directly:

  • Full name, email address, and phone number on registration
  • Government-issued ID documents (for KYC verification)
  • Selfie photograph submitted for identity verification
  • State of residence and date of birth
  • Payment details (processed securely by our payment partners)

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
  • IP address and approximate geolocation
  • Usage data (profiles viewed, search terms, pages visited, session duration)
  • Log data (timestamps of logins, unlock events, errors)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies
Note on female profile data: All female profiles are added and managed exclusively by Sure Ark administrators. Female users do not self-register on the platform. See Section 5 for full details on how female profile data is handled.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Account creation and management — to register your account and maintain your profile on our platform.
  • KYC identity verification — to verify your identity before granting access to female profiles.
  • Processing payments — to handle unlock fee transactions securely.
  • Delivering unlocked contact details — to provide WhatsApp contact information for profiles you have paid to access.
  • Platform security — to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
  • Customer support — to respond to your questions, disputes, and requests.
  • Legal compliance — to meet our obligations under applicable Nigerian and international law.
  • Platform improvements — to analyse usage patterns and improve the user experience.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We will never use your data in a way that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy without obtaining your prior consent.

Section 03
KYC & Identity Verification

All male users must complete our Know Your Customer (KYC) process before gaining access to female profiles. This requirement exists to maintain platform integrity, protect the women whose profiles are listed, and ensure only genuine, accountable users can connect.

During KYC, you will be required to submit:

  • A clear, live selfie photograph
  • A valid government-issued ID (National ID Card, Voter's Card, Driver's Licence, or International Passport)
  • Front and back images of the ID document
How we handle KYC documents: Your identity documents are reviewed by our admin team and stored securely with encryption. They are not shared with other users, female profile holders, or third parties, except where required by law. Documents are retained for the period described in Section 7.

KYC submissions may be approved (access granted), rejected (you will be notified and can resubmit), or in rare cases escalated to law enforcement if fraudulent documents are detected.

Section 04
Payment Information

To unlock a female profile's contact details, a one-time payment is required per profile. We use reputable third-party payment processors to handle all transactions. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials on our servers.

We do retain the following payment-related records:

  • Transaction reference number and timestamp
  • Amount paid and payment method type (card or bank transfer)
  • The specific female profile unlocked by the transaction
  • Payment status (success, pending, or failed)

These records are maintained for accounting, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention purposes. All payment processing is subject to our payment provider's own privacy policy.

No refunds policy: Due to the nature of our service (immediate digital access to contact information), all payments are final and non-refundable once a profile has been unlocked, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
Section 05
Female Profile Data

All female profiles on Sure Ark are created and managed exclusively by our administrative team. This section explains how the data within those profiles is handled.

What is stored per profile:

  • First name (or chosen display name)
  • Profile picture and additional photos
  • Short personal description or bio
  • WhatsApp phone number (kept hidden until unlocked)
  • Visibility status (active or hidden)
Contact details are strictly protected: A female profile's WhatsApp number is never displayed to any male user unless that user has completed KYC and made the required payment for that specific profile. Contact details are not visible in search results, profile previews, or screenshots.

If you are a female individual whose information has been added to the platform without your consent, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 13. We will investigate and remove the profile promptly.

Section 06
Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — payment processors, cloud hosting providers, and analytics tools that support our platform operations. All are bound by data processing agreements.
  • Legal obligations — when required by Nigerian law, a court order, or a legitimate law enforcement request.
  • Protection of rights — when disclosure is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of Sure Ark, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

We never share your KYC documents, ID photographs, or contact details with other users on the platform.

Section 07
Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

  • Account data — retained for the life of your account plus 12 months after account deletion.
  • KYC documents — retained for 2 years from the date of submission, or longer if required by applicable regulations.
  • Transaction records — retained for 5 years for financial and tax compliance purposes.
  • Usage logs — retained for 6 months then automatically deleted.

When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it. You may request deletion of your account data at any time (see Section 8), subject to our legal retention obligations.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13.

Right to Access Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to Erasure Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Right to Restriction Ask us to limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.
Right to Portability Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Right to Object Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.

We will respond to all rights requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

Section 09
Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Encrypted storage of KYC documents and sensitive fields
  • Role-based admin access controls
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Secure, hashed storage of passwords (never stored in plain text)

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you suspect a security breach affecting your account, please contact us immediately.

Section 10
Cookies

Our website and web app use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience. We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the platform to function (session management, login state).
  • Analytics cookies — used to understand how users interact with our platform so we can improve it.
  • Preference cookies — to remember your settings and display preferences.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to log in and use the platform. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Section 11
Children's Privacy

Sure Ark is strictly intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age.

If we discover that a user under the age of 18 has registered on our platform, we will immediately suspend their account, delete their data, and report the matter where required by law. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.
Section 12
Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send a notification to your registered email address
  • Display a prominent notice in the app on your next login

Continued use of Sure Ark after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
